# Theorical covering efficiency and comparaison of RUST-ANODE® and other galvanising coating (competitor)

The theoretical covering efficiency is given in m²/litre or in m²/kg for a dry layer and is calculated with the following formula :

The practical covering efficiency depends on several factors : among them : the shape of the object, the roughness of the surface , the real thickness of the dry film, the application method, etc.
The practical covering efficiency is generally estimated to 75 % of the theoretical covering efficiency.
